Elizabeth, MPH, CYT, has been studying health, wellness and yogic practices for more than 15 years. She holds a Master of Public Health and is a 250 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher. Elizabeth has taught health education and disease prevention around the world with Public Health Departments in Vietnam, Mexico, Sweden, Barbados and Chicago. She is further trained and experienced in developing and implementing Health Behavior Change programs for both adults and children. Her areas of expertise include yoga practices for Diabetes, Cancer, Reproductive Health, Children & Adolescents, Flexibility, and Stress Reduction. CPR and First Aid certified. Elizabeth additionally teaches pilates and yogalates.
Tammy, CYT, is a 250 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher and experienced physical fitness educator. Involved in physical fitness for the past 10 years, she understands the intricate differences between various exercises for physical rehabilitation. She has more than 18 years experience in Chiropractic Science and treatment. She excels in developing personalized fitness routines targeting specific physical challenges and aliments. Tammy's areas of expertise include yoga practices for Spine Health, Weight Loss, Seniors, Muscle Strengthening, Rehabilitation, and Power Yoga. CPR and First Aid certified.
Rebecca LaGesse, CYT, is trained in the Hymalayan system and teaches at various locations for the mobile yoga program. She specializes in restorative yoga practices focusing on reducing stress in the mind and body. Rebecca additionally substitutes for various classes at The Yoga Room.
Terri Anderson, CZT, teaches Zumba at The Yoga Room. She is inspired by the fun and lively practice that buidls community as well as burns calories. Terri makes each class enjoyable and appropriate for all levels as her aim is to bring this exercise practice to all ages.
Monica Herdrich, RN, teaches Belly Dance at The Yoga Room. She began belly dancing in the northwest suburbs in 2006. Monica specializes in tribal improv and tribal fusion. She is now in the well known professional troupe, Blue Lotus Tribe based in Chicago. Over the years Monica’s personal style has changed and grown while working on her own choreographies. What has emerged is a combination of tribal fusion mixed with a slinky style of hip-hop dance, usually set to music with a funky beat, but often simply slow, slinky and sexy.
